Hippie Lifestyle: Exploring the Use of Oils for Wholesome Hippie Skincare

I’ve been called a Hippie many times and I’m not at all offended by it! In popular culture, hippies are often associated with a laid-back lifestyle, natural remedies, and a deep connection to the earth. They’re known for their advocacy of peace, love, and freedom, as well as their distinctive fashion and lifestyle choices. Yup, sounds like me! One aspect of the hippie lifestyle that definitely appeals to me is the use of oils for various purposes, including wholesome hippie skincare, aromatherapy, and holistic healing. Let's explore the world of hippies and their relationship with oils.

Oils in Hippie Culture

  1. Aromatherapy: Hippies are known for their love of nature, and aromatherapy is a natural fit for this lifestyle. Essential oils derived from plants are often used in aromatherapy to promote relaxation, uplift the mood, and enhance spiritual experiences.

  1. Holistic Healing: Hippies often embrace holistic healing practices, which focus on treating the whole person -- body, mind, and spirit -- rather than just the symptoms of a particular ailment. Oils are used in various holistic therapies, such as massage, reflexology, and Reiki, to promote healing and balance.

  2. Environmental Awareness: Hippies have long been advocates for environmental conservation and sustainability. Many oils used in hippie culture, and in our Zeeta Body products, are sourced from sustainable and eco-friendly sources, aligning with the important values of protecting the planet.

Some Ways Hippies Use Oils

  • Topical Application: Oils are often applied topically to the skin, either neat or diluted in a carrier oil, for wholesome hippie skincare or therapeutic purposes. I always suggest diluting for allergy & safety reasons. Our Happy Hippy Body oil is a favorite of many, perhaps it's because the aroma is so intoxicating or it could just be that this blend of herbs and aromatherapy oils just fits in perfectly to create a wholesome hippie skincare routine that can't be found elsewhere. This Zeeeta Body blend contains Patchouli (how could it not!) and Lemongrass essential oils in our signature herb infused base.

  • Aromatherapy: Oils can be used in diffusers, or spray an aromatherapy spray mixture in the air or added to bathwater to create a relaxing and aromatic atmosphere.

  • Massage: Oils are commonly used in massage therapy to promote relaxation, relieve tension, and enhance the therapeutic experience. When used to massage someone else, hippie oils (as some may call them) also deepen our connection to others.

In the groovy world of hippies, essential oils are like magic potions. They're all about natural and holistic vibes, using these oils to bring on good health, happy feels, and a deep connection to the universe. Whether they're slathering them on their skin for a wholesome hippie skincare routine, breathing in their sweet scents, or using them for healing, hippies believe that these oils are an important part of a holistic lifestyle. They're a symbol of their love for nature, peace, and everything harmonious. I definitely relate to that! Peace, Christine
