Managing Back to School Stresses

Updated: Mar 28, 2023

Back to school can bring so many emotions to light. For some of you, it may seem timely as you're ready to get back to a fixed routine, while for others the arrival of the school year seems untimely - rushing our precious summer days.

The Zeeta team wants you to have the smoothest back-to-school transition possible. Here are our suggestions to make it happen easily. Enjoy another year of learning!

1. Get a good night's rest

When we are well-rested, our brains function better. Scientific studies prove that getting uninterrupted sleep, for at least 7-8 hours daily, is vital to general health and well-being - even more, important than diet! Ending your day with a No Worries Foot Soak can serve to calm nerves and anxiety at the end of the day - plus it feels amazing and refreshes the entire body while setting you up for a perfect night. Gather the kids for a foot soak to talk about the day and connect with each other.

Another helpful tool to induce relaxation and restful sleep includes both lavender essential oil and the ayurvedic practice of self-massage. It's not as odd as may seem :-) Here's how it works, apply our Las Vegas Lavender Body Oil to the soles of your feet and then work some oil up the legs and also around your neck.

The action of gently applying oil to your own skin stimulates the central nervous system to settle. This is also a simple way to stimulate circulation while nourishing skin with healthy herbs and oils. Taking a warm bath or shower before bedtime also helps us sleep better. For the most peaceful and restful night, apply lavender oil from toes to head after bathing - try this on your children and be prepared for amazing results!

Finally, add a few spritzes of Defuse Aromatherapy Spray to your bed linens for the sweetest dreams! Some or all of these suggestions can become a family ritual, getting the family to bed together and ending the day with a few moments of quality time together.

2. Fuel your day with a nutritious breakfast

Our brains work better when we feed ourselves well. With just a little preparation, you can have a healthy, easy-to-make breakfast ready for everyone!

Smoothies are easy and full of nutrients to feed your brain. We like to start with baby spinach, add a bit of hulled hemp seed, turmeric, fruit (berries and bananas are a favorite), milk of some variation or water, then a bonus sized scoop of protein powder or a large tablespoon of peanut butter and blend it all up till smooth. Enjoy!

Refrigerator oatmeal can be started days before for a quick and powerful start to the day. There are loads of recipes out there! Hard-boiled eggs are easy to prep and have on hand as well. Just one egg a day has been linked to added brain health.

Of course, the old standby of cereal with fruit topping always works well too.

Along with eating a healthy breakfast, drink water - Drink LOTS of water!!! I try to drink at least a 1/2 gallon of water before lunchtime, the difference is noticeable to me when I don't hydrate well.

3. Stay focused and attentive

We've got your back here! Brain Boost Spray can be easily carried in your bag for spritzing around you, on you, on your books. The combination of brain-boosting essential oils in this

blend will pep you up immediately! You can also add a travel-sized Exhilarating Eucalyptus Body Oil to your bag for even more brain power. Apply eucalyptus oil to hands and neck (doubles as an anti-bacterial moisturizer) for added focus and a strong immune system.
