Skin – As our largest organ, the skin’s “job” is to act as an eliminator of toxins (through sweat) as well as a protector and filter. Because it is so permeable, it regulates body temperature and also absorbs everything we rub into it – as evidenced by effective stop smoking patches and hormone patches that serve as effective birth control. Rubbing oils on your skin is a great way to incorporate essential oils into your daily routine. (And because it is so absorbent, you should carefully read the ingredients of anything we’re about to rub into it!)

Considering this fact, choose your skin products carefully. Eliminate adding toxins to your body by eliminating preservatives, petroleum, alcohol and other harmful ingredients from your daily skin care routine. Introduce all natural body products to nourish yourself and avoid toxins in your skin care regimen.

Essential Oils

What are essential oils? Where do they come from? Essential Oils are the true essence of plant parts which are carefully extracted to create an oil that is made entirely of plant ‘juices’, it’s essence.  Each oil is unique in many ways including the part of the plant which it is created from.  Since all EO’s are highly concentrated it is necessary to dilute before using them.  EO’s are much lighter than your typical cooking oil, most are actually lighter than water, this molecular structure allows them to penetrate the skin very easily.  All have antibiotic, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory properties to some degree or another.

Essential Oils work with the body, not against it, helping create the balance that we all crave and require to function ideally. When used correctly in Aromatherapy these oils have further benefits of boosting the immune system and balancing moods.

Negative reactions are rare, however notice if your skin reactions and adjust your blend accordingly.
